Purchased new equipment and chemicals for the obsolete chemistry labs and repaired them accordingly, enabling students to conduct practical sessions effectively.
The primary section building, which was destroyed by a thunder-bolt, was repaired with a new electric system implemented. The building was handed over to primary students in 2015 by the Minister of Education Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
2015Grade 9 section and the A/L commerce section were completely renovated.
2015The older store room was refurbished into a methodical store room to store text books in an organized manner.
2018Under a new concept of the principal, notice boards were placed in every building and classroom of the school. Important notices were published on them, also paving a way for students to exhibit their creativity.
Refurbished the obsolete poly-tunnel in 2016 and continuously functioned it in an active, live manner. It is considered one of the well-functioned agricultural systems among the leading schools of Colombo.
2016A herbal garden was established in the school with the help of the Green Cross Unit.
2016A project was launched to beautify the school premises. Several plants were planted and maintained by the Environmental Society.
2017The school was declared as a zero garbage zone. Under the project, the 'midden area' was converted into an eye-catching bio diversity garden.
2017The basketball court was repaired and maintained for student activities.
2016The basketball court was renovated with latest equipment, providing opportunities for the daughters of SPM to engage in sports and sport-related activities enthusiastically.
2017The children's playground of the primary section was completely renovated and was opened on Children's Day, 1st of October.
2015Renovated the toilets within the office premises.
2015The sick room was repaired and new equipment and medicine were purchased to provide efficient service for students whenever they get sick during school time.
2015Under the novel concept "Sanitary First" of the Hon. Minister of Education Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the school was donated ten lakhs. Using the donation, the Principal initiated a project to build up a complex of lavatories for the primary section.
2015A Duplo machine was purchased to print the monthly test, unit test, and revision programme papers by the school itself. It retained a large amount of printing cost spent previously.
2016A photocopy machine was donated by a batch of Old Girls. Located in the sick room, it provides photocopy facilities to students at a low cost.
2017The public address system of the school was repaired with the aid of ten Lakhs provided by the OGA – UK branch.
A lighting system was established with the donation of the PPA. Two flashlight systems were located inside the school, very useful for reducing darkness during evening and night practices.
2016Purchased a three-wheeler and a van to transport students — the first time such a purchase was done after many years.
2016–17The temple premises in school, a symbol of the uniqueness of the school, was tiled with interlocks. It is proposed to place a gold-plated fence around the sacred Bo tree. Constructions are proceeding.
